The mysterious murder of a US senator bearing the identifying signature of this Soviet assassin'Cassius', compels retired CIA Paul Shepherson to team together with rookie FBI agent, the crime to be solved by Ben Geary. Shepherdson is convinced that his nemesis is dead, but is forced to take on the case. Geary, who composed his Master's thesis on the search for the killer of Shepherdson, will be sure that Cassius has resurfaced.
