The Girl with No Number
Phuong Ly, a poor and beautiful Vietnamese woman, falls in love with a handsome, kind, and wealthy man who wishes to marry her. Her life appears to be perfect until her boyfriend's mother sabotages their relationship on purpose. Phuong Ly, who is heartbroken and frail, travels to Ho Chi Minh City to work as a cleaner at a marriage agency. There she meets Mitch, one of the men looking for an arranged marriage. He develops a strong interest in her and coerces her into marrying him on the promise that he will support her family in Vietnam and that she will have a better life. However, as soon as she arrives in America, Phuong Ly realizes she has been brought as a slave. She is being violated and abused, and there is no way for her to escape. The only ray of hope is the bond she forms with the American's young, autistic niece; both are prisoners on the run.
