Hannah Sempler Hoyt is 100 years old and lives in the last house with skyscrapers in Hoyt City. She finally agrees to tell her story to a "girl biographer." Flashback: Hannah, a teenager, meets and flirts with Ethan, a pioneer, in 1848. On a spur of the moment, they get married and start a family. Our story is about how they tried to build a city in the wilderness, but the Gold Rush, star-crossed love and danger made it hard. 80 years ago, the star "glowed."
