Daikichi is a 70-year-old man who lives on a small island. He's been living with his cat Tama since his wife died. Daikichi grew up on the small island and enjoys spending time with his childhood friends, including Iwao and his cat Tama. Tsuyoshi, Daikichi's son, lives in Tokyo. Tsuyoshi is concerned about his father's isolation on the island, but Daikichi is content with his life. Daikichi is concerned about his physical condition after a close friend dies. His daily routine begins to shift. Adapted from the manga series "Neko to Jiichan."
