The Kindness of Strangers
Clara and her two sons flee their abusive spouse in their car and intend to start over in New York. After having their car towed away, the family meets Alice, who gets them into an emergency shelter. Clara meets Marc while stealing food from the Russian restaurant 'Winter Palace,' who has been granted the opportunity to restore the aging dining regain its former splendor. The 'Winter Palace' quickly becomes a place of unexpected encounters between people who are all going through some form of difficulty and have been drawn together by fate.
