The L-Shaped Room
Jane is in her 20s, of French descent, pregnant, and has not yet wed. Contrary to the expectations of society, she has no intention of reaching a compromise with the father of her child or having an abortion. When Jane moves into a run-down boarding house in London, she quickly makes friends with the eccentric cast of residents and has a romance with one of the other boarders, Toby. Jane's unplanned pregnancy puts a strain on her recently blossoming relationship, and as the prospect of raising a child on her own draws closer, she must make a decision regarding both her unborn child and her potential romantic interest.
