Senior high school seniors and best friends, Sonny and Duane, livein a dying Texas town. The Duane is dating beauty while Sonny is having an affair with the coach's wife, Ruth. Both boys consider their futures, as graduation nears. While Duane eyes Sonny and that the army takes over a neighborhood business, each boy struggles to find out if he could escape this town and build a better life.
