After getting caught with a different girl from the backseat of a car on prom night, in 1993, teen ager Cameron is sent to a gay conversion therapy center . Run by the strict and intense Dr. Lydia Marsh and also her brother, Reverend Rick, that the centre is assembled upon repenting for"same sex attraction." In the face of intolerance and jealousy, Cameron matches a set of fellow sinners including the stoner Jane, and her good companion. Together, this set of teenagers form an unlikely family while they struggle to survive.
