The Organizer
In this darkly comedic Italian drama about mistreated factory workers in Turin, the title character is Professor Sinigaglia (Marcello Mastroianni). Working in deplorable conditions in a textile mill, these workers have no one to advocate for them until Sinigaglia jeopardizes his academic career by assisting them in starting a strike. Despite the fact that the teacher is being investigated by unfriendly authorities, he remains committed to the workers' cause.
