The Pit and the Pendulum
Set during the height of Spanish Inquisition. The lovely and kind hearted Maria is detained as a witch if she cries out in terror at the general public whipping of a young kid. Since Maria's husband Antonio tries to save , Torquemada, the Grand Inquisitor, determines to penalize Maria with torture. Loosely based on Edgar Allen Poe's classic short story.
