This is the 50th film in the Tora-san series. To mark the 50th anniversary of the series, it uses both old footage and new scenes. Mitsuo, Tora-nephew, san's is now an adult and runs into Izumi, his first love and the woman he promised to marry. Tora-family san's ran the Kurumaya Cafe in Shibamata, and many of the people who worked there are back.
