Tomoya Okazaki is a third-year high school student who is unhappy with his life. When he was younger, his mother died in a vehicle accident, prompting his father to turn to drink and smokes. This leads to battles between the two until Tomoya's shoulder is wounded. Tomoya has had estranged interactions with his father since then, leading him to become a delinquent over time.
