Elizabeth I
Elizabeth I'm just a two-part 2005 British historical drama tv mini series directed by Tom Hooper also starring Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I of England. The mini series covers approximately the previous 24 years of her not quite 45-year reign. Part 1 focuses on the final years of her partnership with the Earl of Leicester. Part 2 targets her subsequent relationship with the Earl of Essex, played with Hugh Dancy.
The show originally was broadcast in the United Kingdom in 2 segments on Channel 4. It later aired on ATV in Hong Kong, CBC and TMN in Canada, HBO from the United States, ABC in Australia, and TVNZ Television One in New Zealand.
The show went on to win Peabody, Emmy, and Golden Globe awards. Helen Mirren surfaced as Queen Elizabeth II at The Queen, together with which the award was commanded by her the same year.
