Inspired by a genuine story, this spy thriller is set during the social and political upheaval of 1968. The matriarch of an American activist family is being pursued into Canada by the FBI, and she is assisting in the smuggling of Vietnam war deserters and draft dodgers. What she doesn't realize is that one of the deserters is a CIA agent who has been dispatched to spy on her by the agency.
