Linda La Hughes (Kathy Burke) shares a flat with Tom Farrell (James Dreyfus). Linda is overweight, loud-mouthed and perhaps not especially attractive. She believes she's magnificent and irrestible. She's also gender mad and obsessed with men. Tom is a aspiring actor. He's got an agent, but finds it difficult to get parts. He doesn't enjoy Linda much, notwithstanding (or perhaps because of) the very fact that they share a level. Because she finds it hard to live with a guy who doesn't find her attractive, she is comfortable with his homosexuality, perhaps.
