Globe Trekker can be an experience tourism television series. The British show was inspired by the lonely-planet travelbooks and began airing in 1994. Globe Trekker is broadcast in over 40 countries across six continents.
Each episode includes a host, known as a traveller, that travels with a camera team to some country a pretty exotic place --and adventures that the sounds, sights, and culture which the location has to offer you. Special episodes feature food manuals, and city, shore, dip, shopping, history, festival.
So as to offer viewers an even more real look in local culture, the series often goes much beyond tourist destinations. Presenters usually participate in various aspects of regional daily life, like attending a marriage or visiting with a mining community. They address the audience right, behaving as guides, however, are also filmed interacting with sailors and detecting interesting locations in unrehearsed sequences. Globe Trekker additionally includes brief interviews with backpackers who talk about tips about travel in that nation.
