Holocaust is an American television mini series broadcast in four parts from 1978 on the NBC television network. The show tells the story of the Holocaust from the perspective of the Weiss group of German Jews and of an increasing member of the SS, who becomes a war criminal. Holocaust emphasized numerous significant events that occurred up to and during World War II, the production of Jewish ghettos, such as Kristallnacht and after. Although the mini series won several awards and received significant acclaim, it was criticized by some, including noted Holocaust survivor and author Elie Wiesel, who described it as"offensive and untrue "
