Invader Zim
Invader Zim is a Jhonen Vasquez cartoon. It debuted on Nickelodeon on March30, 2001. The story follows Zim, an extraterrestrial from Irk, on his ambition to conquer and destroy Earth. Zim's attempts to control and kill humanity are thwarted by his own ineptitude, his malfunctioning robot servant GIR, and a young paranormal investigator named Dib, one of the few who knows Zim's identity. Invader Zim was aimed towards early adolescents and hailed with critical acclaim, but after the first season, ratings dropped. Before the second season ended, Nickelodeon canceled the show, leaving unfinished 23 episodes and a TV movie. With a pilot, 46 aired episodes, and 17 in production at the time of cancellation, the show has retained a cult following. All 46 episodes aired August19, 2006. 19 episodes are split into two twelve-minute tales. 8 double-long episodes. Steve Ressel directed all episodes save the pilot, which Jordan Reichek directed.
