The anime Street Fighter II: V is based on the video game. The Gisaburo Sugii-directed series broadcast on YTV from April 10 to November 27 in 1995. A 1996 English adaptation of the series was developed by Animaze and Manga Entertainment and published in Australia and the USA on VHS in 1997-1998. In1997, ADV Films released a VHS dub for the UK market. North America got the Animaze/Manga dub on DVD on April29, 2003.
