The Mysterious Play
Miaka, a Tokyo junior high student, has usual problems: conflicts with her mom, entrance tests, and where to eat with her classmates. Then, she and her buddy Yui are transported into the enigmatic book Universe of the Four Gods. When the girls arrive in this strange universe, slavers attack them. A dashing young man is luckily nearby. Both girls love him when he saves them from would-be slavers, but he only wants money. Tamahome and Yui disappear when Miaka isn't looking. He may have kidnapped her for money. Miaka doesn't realize Yui has returned to reality. Back in the library, she can only watch as her childhood friend goes to the city to help her. Miaka's only route home is to become the Priestess of Suzaku and save their world.
