Under the guise of inclusion and collaboration, the Department of Federal Justice attempts to save political face by seizing control of the Tribal Police Force, which governs the four Indian Reserves that surround the city. Interim Tribal Chief Samantha Woodburn tries to cut through political red tape while also proving herself in the Metro Police Department's old-white-boys club. She navigates politics and procedure as she clashes with her new partner, Chuck "Buke" Bukansky, a seasoned but broken-down Metro Police detective. "Tribal" delves into real-life First Nation crime stories, such as mistaken identity, pipeline controversy, healing lodge justice, social services, tobacco, and missing Indigenous Peoples.
