Witchblade
Witchblade is based on a comic book. Instead than adapting the original story, the producers created a new plot and characters. This co-production between Gonzo and Witchblade series owner Top Cow was licensed for U.S. release. In January2008, IFC aired the English dub. The series finale aired on IFC on June13, 2008 at 3:30 AM ET. Xbox Live and PlayStation Network sell the show for download. Amazon's Unbox program offers the first 12 episodes for download. Netflix Instant Stream offers the show. It's free on Hulu since June 2011. Vol. 1 was issued in September 2007 and Vol. 6 in December 2008. A boxed collection includes all 24 episodes and a special features CD. On November3,2009, a Blu-ray set was released. Yoshimitsu Ohashi directed the animation, and Uno Makoto developed the characters for Stellvia and Love Hina.
