After dark in Paris. 22-year-old Alex aspires to be a director. He is attracted with first encounters, and Florence, his girlfriend, recently left him for Thomas, his best friend. First divorce, first murder attempt: Thomas tries to choke Alex, but Alex gives up and wanders the streets. Mireille, a young woman from rural France who has traveled to Paris to film commercials, receives a breakup call that evening. This division is seen by Alex.
