The year is 1942, and Archie Glass is attempting to break into the movie industry. His opportunity comes in the form of a job offer: locate a young white movie star before the press learns that she has gone missing, and he will have a shot at realizing his Hollywood ambitions. It's here that the actors who play the maids, busboys, and extras in jungle movies come to life in this dramatic noir about a guy who will do anything to achieve his lifelong ambition. After searching the alleyways of Hollywood, Archie realizes that there are more falsehoods than truth. At the end of the film, he discovers the woman he has been yearning for as well as the harsh realities of being a black guy in Hollywood.
