Slab City, a "wild" community in the Californian Sonoran desert near military facilities, is inhabited by refugees from the American Dream. They were all different ages, with varied tales, but they all chose freedom, even if it meant foregoing the most basic luxuries. The only place with electricity is Rob's improvised Internet café, which provides "the greatest coffee in the neighborhood."
