Lise Cohen is brought to a special prisoner-of-war camp for female Jews, a bordello for German officers and troops. Camp is run by Commandant Starker and his minion Alma. Starker grows frustrated when Lise appears fearless and devises terrible experiments to terrify her. Lise plays Starker's game once she understands her guilt is baseless, but she never forgets the atrocities she's seen.
