Krippendorf's Tribe
A sad and recently bereaved anthropologist must prove the existence of a hitherto unknown New Guinea tribe after blowing his grant money. The Shelmikedmu, a primitive civilization whose traditions enchant scholars, are transformed into his three disturbed children by means of grass skirts, cosmetics and staged rituals. Nonetheless, Krippendorf joins the charade when a rival threatens to blow the whistle on his sleight of hand.
