Odette
Odette Sansom, a Special Operations Executive French-born agent, was captured by the Germans in1943, sentenced to death, and sent to Ravensbrück prison camp to be executed. The film is based on the true life of Sansom. However, despite the chances, she survived the war and testified against the jail guards during the Hamburg Ravensbrück trials. When she was awarded the George Cross in 1946, she became the first woman in history to do so, and she remains the only woman in history to be thus honored while still living.
