During World War II, looking up the Mountain in Italy, a Brazilian Expeditionary Force - FEB - minesweeping platoon is hit by a panic-attack that sends them running aimlessly right in the middle of 'no man's land.' Desperately cold and hungry, the ill-prepared soldiers must choose between facing military court or venturing deeper into enemy territory. After a heated debate, they decide to save face with the Brazilian Army by tackling a daring military mission: disarming Italy's most feared minefield. On their way there, they meet two other deserters: a remorseful Italian soldier attempting to join the Partigianos and a German officer who is simply tired of war. The soldiers are set to complete a mission that had previously been deemed impossible, thanks to the unexpected assistance of their ex-enemy.
