Audie Murphy reprises his role as the young man who dons a badge in order to apprehend the bad guy, played deftly by Barry Sullivan. On the way back to town, the two form an oddly close relationship - Sullivan passes up several opportunities to flee - but in the end, Sullivan "asks for it," and Murphy obliges.
