The story of New york city attorney Hugo who heads to Milwaukee with his friend Madelyn to spend the vacations with his mother Kate, that is also in charge of the regional Christmas parties. Ever the matchmaker, Kate arranges for Hugo to run into Patrick, Hugo's high school friend and also secret crush, that has recently returned after a successful stint in Silicon Valley. As they delight in the regional holiday celebrations with each other, Hugo and Patrick's tourist attraction to every other is obvious and it looks as though Kate's Santa-style matchmaking is a success. Yet as Hugo obtains word of a big promotion calling for a relocate to London, he must choose what is crucial to him.
