The Night My Number Came Up
Royal Navy officer: I had a dream where eight people took off from Bangkok and crashed in the Japanese mountains. At a party in Hong Kong, I was coaxed into talking about it. There is Air Marshal Hardie, who is going to Tokyo the next day. In the beginning, Hardie dismisses the dream because he's supposed to fly out in a Liberator. When he gets to the airport, he finds out that the Liberator has broken down and has been replaced by a Dakota. As soon as the flight is about to leave, two soldiers board the plane, making a total of eight people. This makes Hardie think that the dream may be coming true and he is going to die.
