The popular Borgia Pearl, an important gem with a background of bringing murder as well as misery to its proprietor since the days of the Borgias, is given London, many thanks partly to Sherlock Holmes. However eventually the gem is swiped, due to a mistake on Holmes' part, and also soon thereafter, a collection of horrible murders start, the killer leaving his targets with their backs snapped as well as surrounded by a mass of wrecked china.
