His life spanned an era of remarkable innovation and achievement in the us and also a number of these developments helped fuel the imagination of this storyteller. His ambition was to make the genuine fairytale that is American and the story continues to fascinate, inspire and participate millions of fans of all ages from all over the globe. This documentary investigates the way the Wonderful Wizard of Oz has come to symbolise the American Dream and includes previously unseen footage from the Baum family archives, still photographs and clips from early Oz films, in addition to interviews with relatives, literary pros and American historians because it tells the story of just a single man's lifetime in parallel into the development of modern America.
