Jussi Vares falls in love with a lovely brunette, only to tragically lose her. Sole is found dead in a bird-watching tower after only a few weeks of dating. Vares promises to unravel a mystery of jumbled denunciation letters, and the investigations come to a halt. A lot of things happen before the letters unveil their mystery. Stahanov, a hired gun, is given a job. Sole's brother discovers his wife in the embraces of the wrong man and goes on a rampage with a black cat by his side. Finally, the evidence lead to a well-known figure, and death is unavoidable.
