What do you do when you like songs, and music doesn't like you back? It's an inquiry that haunts Walt (Jim Tavaré), the proprietor of Essential Music, an indie record store in the heart of Silver Lake. Walt's all too knowledgeable about exactly how his punk-rock magnificence days are quick fading in the rear-view - even as he can't help recounting war stories to his much younger workers: Lysette (Kate Dalton), who has to contend with a ceremony of customers convinced she's the Document Store Woman of their dreams; Chris (Derek James Elstro), the lead singer of Struggling Meats, a band positioned for takeoff, and maybe not just in Chris' mind; as well as well-meaning songs nut Duane (Adam Weber), who's a little too fluent in Rock Doubter for his very own excellent. With a love of all kinds of music obvious in every shot, WARMED-OVER KRAUTROCK is a comedy for any individual that's ever invested excessive time consuming over playlists - and for any person who's ever been driven crazy by that sort of individual, also.
